A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was convened under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Hafiz Abdul Basit to discuss the scheme for the establishment of a forensic science laboratory in Quetta under the Prosecution Department. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Secretary of C&W and PP&H, Lal Jan Jaffer, Special Secretary Home, Abdul Nasir Dotani, and Deputy Secretary Home Department, Faisal Faheem.
Siddique Ahmed Kaker, the Chief of Section (PP&H), also participated in the meeting, along with representatives from both the executing and sponsoring agencies. The primary focus of the discussion was to deliberate on the technical and logistical requirements of the proposed forensic science laboratory, which is expected to play a critical role in strengthening the investigative capabilities of law enforcement agencies in the province.
The establishment of this laboratory is part of a broader initiative to enhance the prosecution and judicial processes in Balochistan by providing advanced forensic tools for criminal investigations. The attendees collectively emphasized the importance of this project, underscoring its potential to improve the accuracy and efficiency of crime detection and prosecution within the region.
