On November 12, 2024, a significant PDWP (Provincial Development Working Party) meeting for the Health Sector was convened under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development) at the Planning & Development (P&D) Department, Government of Balochistan. The meeting, aimed at discussing crucial initiatives under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2024-25, was attended by key stakeholders from the Health, CWPP&H, and Finance Departments, along with the Project Director of the Liver Transplant Institute in Naseerabad.
The agenda focused on advancing health infrastructure across the province, encompassing projects that enhance healthcare facilities and services. Some highlighted projects include establishing breast cancer screening centers in tertiary care hospitals, procurement of necessary machinery for new hospitals, and provision of incinerators at divisional and district hospitals. Notably, the construction of the Liver Transplant Institute at Naseerabad and the improvement of drug testing capabilities in Quetta were also on the docket, showcasing the government’s commitment to elevating healthcare standards and accessibility for the residents of Balochistan.
