The 10th meeting of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) of the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI) was convened under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning and Development Department, Government of Balochistan. The Project Steering Committee serves as the apex decision-making and oversight body responsible for steering the strategic direction, implementation, and performance of BSDI projects across the province. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Planning and Development Department, representatives of line departments, project directors, and other key stakeholders. Participants reviewed the overall progress of ongoing interventions under BSDI, discussed implementation challenges, and deliberated on strategic priorities to ensure timely and effective delivery of development outcomes. In his opening remarks, the Additional Chief Secretary (Development) emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in project execution, strengthening inter-departmental coordination, and ensuring transparency and accountability in all phases of implementation. He highlighted that BSDI is a flagship development framework aimed at accelerating socio-economic progress, improving service delivery, and addressing critical infrastructure and human development gaps in Balochistan. The Committee conducted a comprehensive review of physical and financial progress, procurement status, and compliance with approved work plans. Special focus was placed on resolving bottlenecks, streamlining administrative procedures, and enhancing monitoring mechanisms to achieve measurable and sustainable impact. The PSC also provided policy guidance on upcoming phases of BSDI interventions and approved key decisions to optimize resource utilization and align project outputs with provincial development priorities. Members reiterated their commitment to ensuring that BSDI initiatives translate into tangible benefits for communities across Balochistan. Concluding the session, the Chair directed all concerned departments and project teams to expedite implementation, adhere strictly to timelines, and regularly report progress to the Steering Committee. He reaffirmed the Government of Balochistan’s resolve to drive inclusive and resilient development through coordinated planning and effective governance. The 10th PSC meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening oversight and accelerating progress under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative.
