ACS (Development) Chairs 14th PSC Meeting of Balochistan Sustainable Development Initiative

The 14th meeting of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) of the Balochistan Sustainable Development Initiative (BSDI) was held on 16th July 2026 under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning & Development Department, Government of Balochistan. During the meeting, the forum undertook a comprehensive review of the development schemes shortlisted by the District Selection Committees (DSCs) of the respective districts. Each proposed scheme was examined and evaluated individually, keeping in view its development relevance, feasibility, local requirements, anticipated benefits, and alignment with the objectives of the BSDI. The Committee held detailed deliberations on the shortlisted schemes and assessed their potential contribution towards addressing district-level development needs and improving public service delivery. Following the evaluation, the schemes were considered accordingly in line with the prescribed criteria and applicable procedures. The Chair emphasized the importance of ensuring that development interventions under BSDI are need-based, demand-driven, transparent, and responsive to the priorities of local communities. He further stressed that the selection and implementation of schemes should be guided by sound development principles and should result in tangible and sustainable benefits for the people of Balochistan. The Committee also underscored the need for effective coordination between the concerned departments, district administrations, and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely implementation, quality assurance, monitoring, and efficient utilization of resources. The meeting concluded with directions to the concerned authorities to proceed with the necessary follow-up actions in accordance with the decisions of the Committee and the prescribed rules and procedures.
