The Planning & Development Department (P&DD) has compiled its Annual Progress Report for the Financial Year 2025-26, presenting a consolidated account of the Department's flagship initiatives, institutional reforms and sector-wise progress achieved during the year under review.
Some of the key achievements highlighted in the report are summarized below for ready reference:
• Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI): 2,178 projects across all 36 districts with a total investment of PKR 26.57 billion (Phase-I: 908 projects; Phase-II: 1,270 projects), with combined physical progress of 82.04% and 1,765 projects completed to date. • PSDP Automation: For the first time in the Government of Balochistan's history, the PSDP budget for FY 2026-27 was prepared entirely through an automated digital system, a milestone acknowledged by the Provincial Cabinet in its meeting of June 18, 2026. • PSDP 2025-26 Portfolio: 6,728 schemes with a total envelope of Rs. 287.321 billion (GoB) and Rs. 23 billion (Foreign Project Assistance), comprising 3,758 ongoing and 2,970 new schemes. • Development Scrutiny & Approvals: 2,807 PC-I documents appraised, 458 formal PC-I approvals issued, and 3,194 schemes approved by the Departmental Sub-Committee during the year. • Monitoring & Field Oversight: 137 progress review meetings held and 2,212 field inspections/site visits conducted by the M&E Wing across the province. • Urban Development: Launch of the Chief Minister's Package for Quetta Development (CMPQD), including a wastewater treatment plant, drip-irrigation-based urban afforestation, and AI-based traffic management on Anscomb Road. • Green Balochistan Initiative (GBI): Kachhi Canal Phase 1-B development targeting 27,000 acres under cultivation, alongside solarized tubewell and drip-irrigation schemes benefiting hundreds of farmers across Panjgur, Kech, Washuk, Kohlu and Kahan. • Bureau of Statistics: Launch of the Interactive Statistical Dashboard and the Youth Employment Data Portal, which has recorded over 423,000 applications from 30 provincial departments (as of June 29, 2026). • Institutional Reforms: Issuance of the Balochistan Composite Schedule of Rates (BCSR) 2026, the Balochistan Planning Manual, and standardized policies for PC-I revision, re-appropriation, and hiring of Project Directors (28 appointed during the year). • Foreign-Funded Projects: A portfolio of 30 foreign-funded development projects currently being managed or prepared across multiple sectors.
