A high-level meeting was held in Islamabad on February 16, 2026, between the Government of Balochistan, led by the Chief Secretary, and a delegation of the World Bank headed by Ms. Boloorma Amgabazaar. The discussion focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing World Bank-supported development initiatives in the province and identifying areas for enhanced collaboration. Islamabad – A high-level meeting was convened today between the Administration of the Government of Balochistan, led by the Chief Secretary Balochistan, and a delegation from the World Bank headed by Ms. Boloorma Amgabazaar in Islamabad. The meeting took place on February 16, 2026, and underscored the continued partnership between the provincial government and the World Bank in advancing sustainable development across Balochistan. The discussions centered on the progress of ongoing development programs being implemented in the province with the support of the World Bank. Both sides conducted a comprehensive review of current initiatives, assessing performance, implementation challenges, and opportunities to enhance impact and efficiency. The Chief Secretary highlighted the Government’s commitment to accelerating socio-economic development in Balochistan, with particular emphasis on improving infrastructure, strengthening public service delivery, promoting economic opportunities, and enhancing institutional capacity. He appreciated the World Bank’s continued technical and financial assistance, noting its critical role in supporting priority sectors across the province. Ms. Boloorma Amgabazaar reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to supporting the development agenda of Balochistan. She acknowledged the efforts of the provincial administration in ensuring effective implementation of development projects and emphasized the importance of collaborative planning, transparency, and data-driven decision-making to achieve sustainable outcomes. Both sides identified key areas requiring focused attention and future investment. These include strengthening governance mechanisms, expanding access to quality education and healthcare, improving water resource management, building climate resilience, and fostering inclusive economic growth, particularly in underserved and remote regions of the province. The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to deepen coordination, streamline project execution, and explore new avenues of cooperation aligned with the long-term development goals of Balochistan. It was agreed that technical teams from both sides would continue consultations to translate strategic priorities into actionable programs and measurable results. The engagement reflects the shared commitment of the Government of Balochistan and the World Bank to work together in promoting sustainable development, improving livelihoods, and ensuring inclusive growth for the people of the province.
