A Joint End Year Review 2025 of the UNICEF supported departments/activities was convened under the Chairmanship of ACS (Dev:) Planning & Development Department in collaboration with UNICEF at the Planning & Development Department, Quetta, on 5th December 2025. The review was organized to assess partnership performance, sectoral impact, and accountability measures across priority programme areas while aligning provincial efforts with shared results for children and communities. The session was chaired by the respected Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Mr. Zahid Saleem, with the support of UNICEF. Senior representatives from relevant departments and technical teams participated in the proceedings, reflecting a whole-of-government approach to coordinated planning and results-based implementation. As per the agenda, structured presentations and discussions were held on Education, Health & Nutrition, Polio, WASH, Child Protection, Social Welfare, Local Government, Labour Deaortment and SBC. A dedicated discussion on the Health Education Cell / Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) further emphasized the importance of community engagement and demand-side interventions for sustainable health and social outcomes. The forum provided an opportunity for departments to present progress against annual targets, highlight achievements and bottlenecks, and identify practical, time-bound actions for addressing implementation gaps. Cross-sector linkages were reinforced, particularly in areas where integrated service delivery remains essential for improved child health, nutrition, learning outcomes, and protection. A collective commitment was reaffirmed to strengthen interdepartmental coordination, improve data-driven decision-making, and ensure transparent accountability for agreed deliverables. The way forward was outlined with a focus on consolidating gains made during 2025 and prioritizing high-impact interventions for 2026 through joint planning between the Government of Balochistan and UNICEF.
