Meeting Held to Strengthen Institutional Framework of Ziarat Valley Development Authority

A meeting on the proposed amendments to the ZVDA Act was held on 3rd September 2026 under the chairmanship of the Minister for Commodity Management Department. The amendments were reviewed in detail and recommended for placement before the competent forum.

A meeting regarding the Ziarat Valley Development Authority (ZVDA) was held on 3rd September 2026 under the chairmanship of the Minister for Commodity Management Department, representing the Hon’ble Chief Minister Balochistan in his capacity as a member of the Governing Body.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning & Development Department, along with senior officials of the concerned departments, including the Project Director, Ziarat Valley Development Authority (ZVDA).

The meeting primarily focused on the proposed amendments to the Ziarat Valley Development Authority Act, with a view to strengthening the institutional, administrative, and operational framework of the Authority and ensuring that its legal provisions remain aligned with the emerging development requirements of Ziarat Valley.

During the meeting, various proposals for amendments to the Act were presented and subjected to detailed scrutiny and comprehensive deliberation. The forum examined the proposed amendments from legal, administrative, institutional, and development perspectives and discussed their potential implications for the effective functioning of the Authority.

The participants emphasized the importance of establishing a clear, effective, and sustainable institutional framework for the Ziarat Valley Development Authority to facilitate planned development, improve coordination among relevant stakeholders, and ensure effective implementation of development initiatives in the valley.

Following detailed deliberations, the proposed amendments were reviewed and recommended for placement before the competent forum for consideration and further necessary action in accordance with the prescribed legal and administrative procedures.

The meeting underscored the Government of Balochistan’s commitment to promoting planned, sustainable, and coordinated development of Ziarat Valley, while ensuring that the institutional framework of the Authority is responsive to the evolving needs and development priorities of the area
