Quetta, September 1, 2026: A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), Government of Balochistan, was held at 2:00 PM on 1st September 2026 under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning & Development Department. The forum considered various development proposals relating to the Road Sector submitted by the Communications & Works (C&W) Department. During the meeting, the schemes were subjected to detailed technical scrutiny and comprehensive deliberation, with particular emphasis on their development significance, connectivity requirements, technical feasibility, financial implications, and anticipated benefits for the people of the respective districts.

Following detailed scrutiny and discussion, the PDWP considered the following road-sector schemes, with the estimated cost mentioned against each: 1 Construction of a 15 KM Pasra Road from Sanjawi to Kharashang Road, District Ziarat 300.00 Million 2 Construction of B/T Road from Mana to Poi, District Ziarat 1,300.00 Million 3 Construction of B/T Road from Kharan Ahmed Wall to Albat Road, including additional scope for alignment profile, cut & fill and structures (Package-B), Phase-I 550.00 Million 4 Construction of Western Bypass (B/T Road) from Cotto Factory to Bab-e-Kharan, District Kharan, Phase-I 750.648 Million 5 Construction of 500 RM Bridge at Hub River near Abbas Goth, District Hub 725.00 Million 6 Construction of Black Top Road, two PMTs and external high-tension electrical works at Kund Gaddani, Hub, Phase-I 750.00 Million 7 Construction of B/T Road from Bakhtar Mor to Barmozwadh, Peer Koh — 18 KM 350.00 Million 8 Dera Bugti Rehabilitation of Sui–Dera Bugti Road 500.00 Million 9 Construction of Black Top Road from Mangoli to Jiyani, District Naseerabad 370.00 Million 10 Construction of Road from N-70 Sur Dakai to Kakhaw Shamamzai, UC Hirra Kibzai, District Zhob, Phase-I 450.00 Million 11 B/T Road from Raees Muhallah Daazi to CEC Boniston, District Panjgur — 4 KM (Modified) 60.00 Million The proposed schemes encompass the construction, rehabilitation, and improvement of key road infrastructure across various districts of Balochistan. The interventions are aimed at improving inter-district and intra-district connectivity, facilitating mobility of people and goods, strengthening access to markets and essential services, and supporting economic and social development in the respective areas. The PDWP emphasized that improved road connectivity is essential for regional integration, agricultural and commercial activity, access to education and healthcare, and overall socio-economic development. The forum also highlighted the importance of ensuring that road projects are designed in accordance with relevant technical standards and are responsive to the actual connectivity and development needs of local communities. The Chair directed the concerned authorities to ensure quality construction, financial discipline, transparency, effective monitoring, and timely completion of the schemes. He further stressed that all projects must be implemented in accordance with approved designs, applicable rules and regulations, and prescribed technical and financial procedures.
