The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), Government of Balochistan, met on 2nd September 2026 under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), P&D Department, and reviewed the Revised PC-I of the Livelihood Promotion Program Phase-II. The forum examined the proposed modifications, additional components, financial implications and implementation arrangements, and considered the proposal for enhancement of the project cost to accommodate the expanded scope of interventions. It emphasized that the new components must align with the project's core objectives and deliver tangible, sustainable benefits to the target communities, particularly vulnerable and underserved groups. The Chair directed that the revised project be implemented with transparency, accountability, effective monitoring, quality assurance and efficient use of public resources, and that all cost revisions be processed in accordance with applicable rules and approved procedures.
Quetta, September 2, 2026: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), Government of Balochistan, in its meeting held on 2nd September 2026 under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning & Development Department, reviewed and evaluated the Revised PC-I of the Livelihood Promotion Program Phase-II.
During the meeting, the forum undertook a detailed scrutiny and comprehensive evaluation of the revised PC-I, with particular focus on the proposed modifications, additional interventions, financial implications, implementation arrangements, and expected development outcomes of the project.
The forum was briefed on the proposed revision of the project, which includes the addition of various new components aimed at broadening the scope and strengthening the impact of the Livelihood Promotion Program Phase-II. The proposed enhancements were examined in the context of the emerging needs of the target communities and the overall objectives of promoting sustainable livelihoods and improving socio-economic opportunities.
Following detailed deliberations and scrutiny, the PDWP considered the proposal for enhancement of the project cost to accommodate the proposed new components and expanded scope of interventions. The forum emphasized that the additional components should be clearly aligned with the project’s core objectives and should deliver tangible and sustainable benefits to the intended beneficiaries.
The PDWP highlighted the importance of livelihood development initiatives in improving income-generating opportunities, employment prospects, economic resilience, and living standards, particularly among vulnerable and underserved communities across Balochistan.

He further directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all proposed additions and cost revisions are processed in accordance with applicable rules, approved procedures, and development planning requirements.
